Interpreting TalentClick Assessment Results

Interpreting TalentClick Assessment Results

Interpreting Results

TalentClick assessments are effective because they are built on three primary facts:

  1. People differ in many different ways
  2. People’s differences translate into job performance differences
  3. People’s safety differences can be measured BEFORE hiring

With these facts in mind, managers should use TalentClick assessments to gain an understanding of an employee’s strengths, using the personalized results in the Coaching Considerations section below:

Positive Aspects

The section below employee strengths highlights potential safety risk that provide training and mentoring opportunities for the individual to help them be the safest person they can be:

Safety Risks

When used for hiring, these safety risk areas should be probed during a follow-up interview and/or reference check. Keep in mind that these assessment results are not a silver bullet to be used as a “Pass” or “Fail”; they should only be used for a maximum of 20% of a hiring decision.

Linking Job Role to SQ™ and DSQ™ Dimensions

SQ™/DSQ™ measures six personality traits directly correlated to unsafe behavior. As a manger, you need to consider how each dimension connects with the position you are hiring and/or training for.

Resistant vs. Accommodating
Does the position involve closely following specific rules and procedures?

Anxious vs. Calm
How much stress will this person be under?

Impatient vs. Patient
How much potential for frustration is there with this job?

Distractible vs. Focused
How much variety is there in the tasks?

Impulsive vs. Cautious
What would happen if decisions on the job were made quickly without considering consequences?

Thrill-Seeking vs. Apprehensive
What level of risk tolerance is acceptable in the job?

Linking Job Role to WPP Dimensions

Much like SQ™/DSQ™ results, you must consider how each WPP dimension connects with the position you are hiring for.

Non-Competitive vs. Dominant
Does the position involve managing a team?

Reactive vs. Calm
How much stress will this person be under?

Reserved vs. Outgoing
How much interaction with others is required?

Direct vs. Empathetic
How much focus is there on helping others?

Spontaneous vs. Regimented
Is a high attention to detail and planning required?

Conventional vs. Open-Minded
Are the duties & responsibilities highly structured or always changing?
